Home appliance manufacturer BSH favored by engineers

1st place for "innovation management" in ranking of "Top Employers for Engineers 2012"

Munich, April 20, 2012 (bsh) – For many years, BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH has ranked among the best employers in Germany. For engineers in particular, Europe's leading manufacturer of household appliances offers excellent working conditions and attractive career perspectives. Yesterday the CRF Institute acknowledged this by designating BSH as one of 34 "Top Employers for Engineers 2012" for foresight personnel management that is dedicated to long-term success. In the "innovation management" category, BSH was ranked with the first place. BSH is among the most active patent applicants in Germany.

"Engineers are in great demand in the household appliance industry, so we are very pleased by this award. In the increasingly difficult international competition for the most suitable employees, this is an important recognition," says Joachim Ries, head of corporate personnel at BSH. "With the designation as a 'Top Employer for Engineers' we have proven once again that we are a very attractive employer for engineers in particular."

This is the fifth year in which the CRF Institute has honored the top employers for engineers. Participating companies were rated in the following categories: career opportunities, primary benefits, secondary benefits and work-life balance, training and development, corporate culture, and innovation management. In addition, experienced business journalists conducted on-site interviews to gain insights into day-to-day corporate life.

In five out of six categories, BSH scored at least 4.5 out of five possible points – and even placed first in the innovation management category, with the highest possible score. "We are especially proud to be the winner in the innovation management category, because as the innovation and technology leader in the household appliance sector, we need top engineers for a variety of fields, for example in development or quality management. With special technically oriented entry programs, challenges at foreign sites, and systematic qualification at the BSH Academy, we offer engineers attractive international development opportunities," says Ries.
