Employees: Ensure Physical and Psychological Wellbeing

The occupational health and safety of our employees is a top priority. We do our utmost to provide ideal working conditions and invest in our employees’ mental and physical health. Furthermore, we want to create a working environment that allows them to successfully flourish, perform, and have a long-lasting, positive impact on our organisation, environment, and society.

BSH runs preventive health management systems, ensuring continuous improvement and accident-related data analysis. This lays the foundation for our constantly low accident rate.

BSH reduced the accident rate in 2022 to 3.0 accidents per 1 million working hours.*

BSH’s occupational health and safety management systems have been externally certified in 2022 at all production and development sites according to ISO 45001 or comparable national standards.

Contribution to Society: Supporting Social Organizations

Since people are at the center of everything we do, we support selected social organizations and work with them locally.

BSH’s commitment to enabling a sustainable life is reflected in the way we support charitable projects with donations of money and goods – especially concentrating on our CSR focus areas of hygiene, health, and nutrition.

Since the end of 2020, we support the German Non-Profit Organization JOBLINGE to get young long-term unemployed in apprenticeships or jobs.

JOBLINGE’s participants take part in intensive six-month programs, helping them examine their own strengths and suitable occupations, and finally gaining practical experience in partner companies.

Despite all obstacles resulting from the Corona pandemic, the JOBLINGE initiative achieves above-average success through tailored qualification, voluntary mentoring and support during apprenticeships. In 2021, 77 percent of participants were placed in an apprenticeship or job - a total of around 500 young people. Around 87 percent of them are still pursuing the job they found six months later, making JOBLINGE a truly sustainable organization.

BSH not only supported JOBLINGE financially, but also provided expertise as a good employer to help with the application process. Through our collaboration, 24 young people have gathered an apprenticeship in 2021 and thus the prospect of a self-determined life. In addition, we provided the new JOBLINGE site in Berlin with kitchen appliances and supplied all 14 JOBLINGE sites in Germany with fully automatic coffee machines.
